Ohio Shelter Assures that Giggles the Scowling Cat Is Actually Quite ‘Sweet and Charming’

“If he’s angry about anything, it’s because you aren’t petting him,” said the shelter, which described that feline’s scowl as the cat’s “permanent” facial expression

This adoptable cat has a you-know-what look when it’s sleeping!

There’s a new feline resident at the Riggi Rescue in Summit County, Ohio, who seems to be fed up with everything and everything at first sight. The shelter, on the other hand, promises not to take the cat’s permanent scowl personally. Did we say he went by the nickname Giggles?

“For those who aren’t familiar with Giggles’ story, he isn’t mad; in fact, he is very happy, cute, and charming,” Riggi Rescue wrote on Instagram on Monday. “He was found with multiple ticks on him and a minor bite wound by a Good Samaritan. It’s because you’re not petting him that he’s mad over something.”

The nonprofit shared more information about Giggles on Facebook over the weekend, including a slideshow of photos in which they claim the cat was smiling during the photo shoot, not irritated or angry as his facial expression would suggest. This is his “permanent” face, according to them.

“He is the SWEETEST BOY! WE LOVE HIM! Here’s some Giggles smiles for ya,” they joked.

Giggles, according to the shelter, was “We found him wandering the streets for a while until a Good Samaritan picked him up and took him to us. He had a lot of ticks, wasn’t neutered, and had a cat battle bite wound on his leg. He’s only one of many people who need our assistance!”

Giggles has become a local star, with thousands of people commenting on the photoshoot’s Facebook page looking to adopt the pet.

“His crazed expression. He is so cute! I’m hoping that the screening goes well and that he finds his furever home soon!” “He should be Hollywood-famous and live a life of luxury with that face!!” wrote one person, while another said, “He should be Hollywood-famous and live a life of luxury with that face!!”

On Wednesday, Riggi shared a pic of the sleepy cat on Instagram, writing that he had a long day. “Giggles is ready to call it a night after an exhausting day. #giggles #gigglesthecat #riggirescue #madcat #grumpycat #bedtime #rbf #nopicturesplease,” they wrote.

The rescue center did note earlier this week that Giggles has a potential forever home lined up. Here’s hoping the new pet owners fully realize the cat’s social media superstardom potential and continue sharing photos of his scowling mug online.
